Stand erect with your heels together and toes apart.

Raise your arms over the head, and place your folded hands with palms together on the hand.

While inhaling stretch your arms, shoulder and chest upward. Simultaneously raise the heels and stand on your toes.

Stretch the whole body from feet to arms upward without losing the balance. You can balance your body better by keeping the eyes open and fixing your gaze at some point in front of you.

Stay in the position for a few seconds depending upon your capacity.

Exhale slowly and come down on the heals and bring yur folded hands on the head.

Repeat this at least three times.
Point of concentration is ajana chakra (medullar energy centre).
Then relax in ashvasana (horse pose). Before proceeding to the next asana normalize your breathing and heart.
Benefits: Tadasana develops physical and mental balance. The entire spine is stretched and the spinal nerves are loosed. The abdominal spine and intestines are also stretched.
