As you work around the body, change your position so that you are comfortable. Involve your whole body-whether standing or sitting, use the floor as a lever to help you and let your body move in the same rhythm as the strokes you are creating.
Begin by spreading your oil over the upper chest area with broad, conforming fingers. Assuming your friend's breasts are covered, don't allow your fingers to go under the sheet. You may find a thickness in the Pectoralis Minor muscles. Use gentle pressure to smooth these areas out. With "soft knuckles", place pressure on the upper chest and glide your knuckles from the middle of the upper chest to the outer edges several times.
This stroke serves three purposes:
* It warms the chest.
* It increases blood flow to the area.
* It spreads the massage oil.
Using the fingertips, work in between the upper ribs, stroking from the center of the chest outward. Repeat three or four times, moving down to the next rib with each repeat.
When you travel upward turn your hands. Evenutally your fingers will slide downward by the underarms. Glide your hands down toward the waist. Turn your hands again and start over.
Gently massage by kneading each one, using lifting and slight compressive movements. Include moderate pressure compressions to move out the stagnant fluids. You may also gently twist each one, using both hands, in a wringing motion.
